Like dynamic figures she sculpts, Esther Wertheimer appears to be in a state of perptual motion. "I love movement and action... I need to dance, I need to feel the music."

Using the Italian expression contropposto to describe poses in which one part of a figure is twisted in the opposite direction to the rest, Wertheimer says she takes this term to it's zenith. "I use it to create a greater intensity in my work - that is my signature."
In the three decades since the birth of her career, Wertheimer has grown into a sculptor of international repute, with monumental works on display in Canada, the United States, Europe, Australia and Japan.
