Henry Bianchini

Bianchini quote

Henry Bianchini was born in San Diego, California in 1935 and has been a resident of Hawaii since 1969. His sculptures depict the interaction of figures and the arrangement of forms in juxtaposition with each other. The positive and negative spaces are of equal importance to this artist.

The Abduction

Bianchini joins primitive ancestry to modern sophistication. The resulting works speak to us of tribal beginnings, of ceremony, and of a vital mythology. His unique and original patinas combine a classical antiquity with contemporary form. The artistic influences range from the lyrical qualities of Henri Matisse to the stability and power of Henry Moore.

Major commission works include: “The Dance” a bronze sculpture at the Grand Wailea Resort on Maui, Hawaii, “Mother and Child” a bronze sculpture at Kaiser Permanente Hospital on Oahu, Hawaii and “King David Kealakekua” a bronze sculpture at Kalakaua Park in Hilo, Hawaii.
